Does the Bible Tell Us We Shouldn’t Use Medication? Ep 6
There’s a specific passage in Galatians (Gal 5:19-21) that speaks about avoiding idolatry, jealousy, witchcraft, drunkenness… etc.
The original Greek word for “witchcraft” in this verse is pharmakeia – the use of medicine, drugs, or spells.
In today’s episode, Kylene and Tanya debate the use of medicine and drugs, including psychedelics, as it pertains to scripture.
Are psychedelics ok to use? What about marijuana? Or prescription medication?
Looking closely at the original translation of the word, we believe the Bible is trying to tell us how to care for our bodies to maintain our “Temple of the Holy Spirit” in the manner in which God intended.
Not everyone will agree with our thoughts on this. We invite you to share your perspective and whether you agree with how we’re interpreting this particular passage.
