Are we really commanded to tithe? Ep 14
Many people have shame around money. Many Christians view it as the "root of all evil".
But what does the Bible say about money? Is it ok to be rich? Or, as in the early church, are we expected to share our wealth if we are blessed with more income than we need?
In today's episode, Tanya and Kylene discuss some of their own struggles around money and what they found the Bible to say about how we should handle it.
Surprisingly to both of them, they discovered there are different ways to handle money depending on if the situation is personal or a business transaction. There are situations to save and others to give.
But perhaps the most important question you can ask is...
Are you placing your drive for financial wealth over your commitment to doing God's work? Or, simply put, is money your idol?
Questions addressed in this episode:
- What general principles does the bible give us when it comes to money?
- How does God view success?
- What's the deal with tithing?
- How does personal giving differ biblically from business deals?
